Several of the techniques that Jimmy Ellis and PfiNDE, Inc. routinely perform are manual techniques that are also considered advanced techniques. As those techniques are generally  manual techniques they are not the focus here. Those techniques are addressed in the Applications section.

Jeff Hecht, Vice President of  Advanced Technology, has the responsibility to evaluate the effectiveness of the various advanced techniques.

PfiNDE, Inc. owns the necessary equipment  and has experience with:

  • Phased Array UT – manual and automated
  • Automated C-scan for internal corrosion  mapping
  • TOFD

  • Phased Array

  • FAST
  • Multi-channel automated  UT. Though several options are available, the most useful set up used to date is Automated FAST. See image below.
